Binghamton's Carter Baer named EIWA Wrestler of the Week

Binghamton's Carter Baer has been named EIWA Wrestler of the Week after claiming the 174 lb. Championship at the Journeyman Collegiate Classic

Baer started off his day by defeating Jordan Chapman of Rutgers 3-2. In his second match, Baer found himself in a low-scoring bout with No. 28 Derek Gilcher of Indiana. Baer got an escape in the second period before riding Gilcher for the entire third period to get the 2-0 victory. In the championship finals match, Baer went up against No. 26 Nick Fine of Columbia. Both wrestlers would fight to a 6-6 tie at the end of three periods. With just over a minute remaining in sudden victory, Baer executed a single-leg attack against Fine and was able to finish the takedown for three points and the championship win.
